Got back from the wedding reception at 11. I took a Meloxicam this morning so I could dance. Had a great time but hope I don't pay for it tomorrow when it wears off.

I've got a sick hen again. It's Dani, one of the double silver laced Barnevelders. Her crop is backed up and thick (not drinking enough) and she had a mucousy clear with yellow swirls diarrhea with intestinal lining in it. I gave her a dose of Safeguard and a crop massage and she walked off. I hope she drinks on her own but will have to crate her if she needs more intense attention.

I guess this is one of the down sides of taking vacations when you own chickens. My caretakers don't see what I see. She must have been roosting next to Fabio from before I got back from vacation. Hens always rotate around him but when one is sick, she will stay next to him night after night.

Thanks for the hot water! Tea is steeping. There are still a few muffins left if anyone wants some. Grab ‘em while you can, we’re bringing the grandkids home after church for the afternoon. Grandpa was hoping to give rides on the combine, but it broke down last night. I think today will be rock painting day for the cat’s grave.
