Good morning Cafe. Still feeling tired and run down and spent another night coughing most of the night. I'm exhausted. Lots of coffee for me.

There is a poultry swap a little less than 20 minutes from my house. I am going to take Digit there today and hope someone wants him. Even if they want to eat him as long as he is humanely dispatched, I'm fine with that. He can't live in the maternity ward forever.

I let him out by himself after I repaired the fence. He wandered around for about 15 minutes then stood by the run wall tid-bitting at the hens inside so I let them out. Within 1 minute he was fighting with his three older sisters. They started it. They hate him. He wouldn't back down though so back into the ward he went.

My biggest fear is that he doesn't get taken and I have to bring him home. I have no place to quarantine him to make sure he didn't pick something up there. I intend to park far from others and disinfect my shoes and wash all my clothes when I get home.

If I were close I'd take Digit. I have several re homed boys here and all are fine. I had one lady bring Rocky the White Rock Rooster to to me all the way from MS. She was afraid some one would eat him. I assured her I wouldn't. She came with him so see me and how he would live out his days. Some days I think I'm running a home for runaway juvenile delinquents.

One more 'dreaded' winter chicken chore complete.
Hauled the 6' step ladder from garage to 2 locations on coop to cleat windows closed.
There, that's DONE!
All went smooth, it's great to have all the moves down.
