BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

HTG came over for about an hour to help finish up pond winterization. When I went to pump out the tank, the water wasn't gushing out like normal. I went to the discharge point and there was a frog leg. 🤮 The pump sucked up a frog that squeezed into the bottom drain and ended up getting trapped in the tank. There were also 5 more dead salamanders. And a live frog and three dead salamanders in the skimmer basket of the pumps priming pot.

He's coming back today to help finish the pond, help me process a crate of pallet scrap and bring some wood in for me. I don't know how long I'll be on the weight lifting restriction for my back. Hopefully for a very long time! I'm really enjoying his company!

And an update on Bella. When I look back at the number of times she's had explosive liquid bloody diarrhea, it's at least 6 times in less than 4 years. That's a lot. The vet suggested she might have low intrinsic factor and we could test her for that. I said yes. He gave her an injection of B12 after he drew the blood sample.
The fecal float showed an overgrowth of bacteria as I suspected. And she was negative for giardia so she's on the Metronidazole and eating a bland diet for several days. It will be interesting to see the results of the blood test which, due to the holiday, I will not get until after Thanksgiving week.

Good morning, all it's a cool 49 here my kind of weather today. Thank you for the coffee it's well needed. Looks like I will be working the flea market and working also to finish this one project up.
So sorry @DobieLover hope your puppy feels better soon, as far as fixing intelligence here first. My thoughts are start taking the warning labels off and let nature weed out them.

She's actually doing fine. She's now eating again so that makes her very happy! A girl after my own heart. She's also still playing with Piper.
If she does have low intrinsic factor it's easily treated with monthly IM injections of B12.
