BYC Café

Haven't really observed either T-day or ConsumerMass for years.
Tho for a few years I bought a couple fresh turkeys around this time of year and parted them into the freezer to eat all year long. Mmmmm, nothing like roasted turkey with gravy and stuffing!

ETA...Oh, yeah, when I was working those 4 days off were great! Now it's all just the same freakin' day.

I'm thinking about watching the Lions WIN on Thanksgiving Day!
Yeppers! Man, that last game ended up being great!
And watching U of M beat Ohio on Saturday.

Ummm. Wow.

I just drove to work and was shocked at the number of huge branches, downed trees and wind damage. We had a storm cell blow through last night that I slept through. When I got up I noticed that the basement door was open. Bella likes to go to the basement during storms.

When I got to Main St I could see something yellow up ahead in the road. It was caution tape tied to a very saggy power line running across the road!

Thank goodness I had all those EOL poplars dropped!!

Good morning every one. Today and tomorrow will be nice here and after that I don't know. Didn't bother to look because any farther out that that is only a guess now. Not going far and won't be staying long on Thursday. Have a great day today everyone and a great Thanksgiving Day with family and friends when you can.

Finishing gluing the drains, installing the dry pack base in the shower, taping and thin setting the stall, trimming out the window and door and rehanging the door.
Then eating like a pig Saturday!
I know the feeling, I'll be up at 5 I can't sleep in even though I go to bed after 10:30.My projects this weekend will be digging post for our new porch & new compost bin on the back of the property. Put the Monte's dash back together, in between opening the store on Saturday & Sunday. DW may open the flea market Friday with he mother & sister maybe.

Good Morning,

New here. I live in a pine and birch forest at 10,000 feet in the southern Mexican mountains.

Every morning I wake when the chickens wake up, and liberate the chickens for a day of free ranging, and feed the friendly animals that come, most of which are not even mine, but if they protect and get along with the chickens, they are welcome.

I usually make myself a natural locally produced Mocha Café.

My recipie is -
One part raw local cacao beans,
One part raw Almonds,
One part toasted local coffee beans,
ground up in a hand mill along with a small amount of Baking Soda.

I don't know how to tell you how much Baking Soda, but there is a correct amount but I have my standards which you would not understand in the US, not too little and not too much, and it seems to be about several tablespoons of Baking Soda for about a cup and a half of the other ingredients.

There is a sequence to get them to pass through the mill.
Start with mostly the cacao which is the most difficult and sticky, and add some toasted coffee beans and baking soda which cleans the mill and helps the sticky cacao to pass.

Follow up with the almonds that pass easier than the cacao, along with more coffee beans and baking soda to clear the mill.

This recipe creates a brew with a mild chocolatey flavor, as if it had dairy or cream, even if no dairy is added. I developed this because there are no natural local dairy products in this area, and the commercial products do not suit my biology.

Then I usually fall asleep and have a few hours more of the highest quality dreaming of my day or night.
