BYC Café

Got the 3-5" that blew up off the lake...more like 2-3 here.
Will shovel out to the coop and part of the run, can probably get out of driveway OK.
After shoveling, yeah 3-5.
No problem getting out of the driveway, roads were a little dicey as were a couple of other drivers. Still snowing and drove thru a couple whiteouts on the highway.
But got chicken feed(almost ran completely out of regular ration) and a new stack of books.

UHG! Dreading dealing with the snow this year with a weakening body and a dead tractor/thrower.
Any neighbors who can/will help?

We went to the store yesterday and saw a pickup truck in the ditch. As we pulled out to go around the sheriff and tow truck, our wheels spun a bit on the road. It was icy.

Meijer was pleasantly un-crowded. The two check-out lanes were busy. I have not seen more than two lanes open since they got their "new, improved, expanded) self check out system running. But I haven't been there during peak times, either.

Here's what's pissing me off. They may eventually get rid of all but one or two checkout lanes, and have them open only during certain times. So I would be forced to either shop at those times and deal with the backed up mess, or cave and use the self checkout. Who does this hurt? Not Meijer. Not at all, I bet. I could complain to the store manager, and he would not give a crap at all. I am very small potatoes to them. It would take a large number of people to vote with their feet and wallets to change this. I don't see that happening either.

Go shop somewhere else? Yeah, I'll be looking, if it comes to that. It will mean a (lot) longer drive.

Nope, I have no rapport with the few neighbors(I'm a liberal in trumpland), nor a network.
My staunch life long independence is now shackling me, I know.

cave and use the self checkout.
I like the self check outs, especially for only a few things.
Used it for chicken feed this morning and was going to use it at grocery too except the woman in front of me had not a clue how to so after I helped her with a few things I moved on to the empty cashier lanes. Just as well as I wanted to report several cartons of broken eggs.

We picked up hubby's scrip, and instead of 90 day supply, it was only 30. He specifically asked his Doc to make it 90, and Doc was happy to oblige. Yes, it makes more sense. Yes, it's a few dollars cheaper. And so the first installment was for 90 days.

Well, the insurance company won't cover 90 days now. Just 30. And instead of enough refills to take hubby to his next physical, it's enough to get him to February. Oh, and they are the ones who do auto-refill, so that is why the pharmacy didn't text us it was ready.

I will be calling the insurance company and asking if there is a good, logical, sensible reason for this change. Are they hoping he'll die in between refills, and they will be out less money? Are they hoping he'll "forget" that he needs these, and they can stop paying for it? (Leading to him possibly dying; see reason above.)

Soup line, insurance company, soup line, soup line, soup line.*

*That is my person swear word for something I can't write here.

@Sally PB I have our medications with AARP OptumRx.

We get 90 day supply with no copay usually.

They will auto-fill if you sign up for it.
