Not enough work done on the new coop today. Hope we can still finish tomorrow and have time to move some hunting stands. Deer archery season opens next weekend and we are not close to being ready. Dang chickens have taken over!

Is there a day where 'enough' is done with a chicken project? And thinking of that deer chore, you need a couple of buddies that will use up their tags and then want to fill yours also + give you the meat from your tags. I don't have to brave the bad weather or anything just wait.

True, chicken work is never done! Don't you hunt anymore? I'm not as anxious this year as previous years. I really want some deer jerky though!

I got met by a couple of deer in my driveway when I got home from the grocery store a couple of nights ago. When we first moved here, there were a couple of hunting clubs that hunted them with dogs in the woods behind the house, but there are so many developments around here now, it's hard to get far enough away from the houses to safely (and legally) discharge a firearm. The deer have little to fear from people now; they are much more likely to collide with a car than a bullet or arrow.

Beautiful day today. Didn't get very much done...:p

I DID however take a walk into the woods and take a few pictures. Soooo...for your viewing pleasure Scott...

This is the entrance to a natural "cut". It makes an awesome shooting lane!

So peaceful looking Wiggles! Serene is the word that comes to mind.

We got out in the woods today and did a little metal detecting, instead of working on the coop. Hubby got a new detector, so I used the old one and had alot of fun. Best find - my Broadhead from an archery shot at a deer in 2009! (I think that's the correct year) Arrow stuck and broke, I found the fletching end at the time, but never found the Broadhead end, until today. And its still usable! Cha-Ching. Also found a camera card from one of our trail cams. We must have dropped it an couldn't find it, or didn't know we dropped it. Popped it in the computer and the darn thing still worked. Pics were from October 2011!

That cut is just awasome! Great line of sight! I don't hunt down here in NC, but used to enjoy the woods back in the UP. We had horses that would pull a kill out to a road for us, loved it!
Have fun!!
Thanks for the Pic's Miss Wiggles!

Nice pictures Miss Wiggles! I'm not going to let DH see them though, he'd have a bad case of "garage envy"
