Morning! Not much going on in these parts either. We went to DS$ choir concert last night at the MS and then went out for dinner at a new pizza joint. OFW, glad that you had a day off yesterday! My boys never got into Santa much. He was cool, but they never wanted to do the whole scene. I think it is because I exposed them to the "Christmas Story" movie too soon. They LOVE the movie and it is a family tradition to watch it on X-mas eve. Works for me. I just figured it was one less line that I would ever have to wait in.

Storm coming in and of course, there will be wrestling to attend.

I am looking to add seven more hens to my flock in about a week. Currently have five. I live near cincy Ohio and weather has been very very mild this far. Curious if anyone has a good way to introduce the new chicks or (they are about 2 months old) should I give them a baptism by fire? Thanks for your help

Posting this on a couple of threads

Folks I have a request. I never do this, but for some reason, this story really affected me.

http://www.khou.com/story/life/2015...rents-in-fire-wants-christmas-cards/76986802/

My family will be making several hand made cards to send this little girl. It's amazing to me how such tragedy and adversity brings out such greatness in a little one. I know many of have maybe already sent out your Christmas cards but if you have spares, that is all this little girl is asking for.

I guess I could have started a new thread, but I know this one gets read allot.

Thanks for the heads up Berts.

Well I do not know that they would be very excited about Santa if I did not make them, "OK time to go meet Santa, yes I promise of stand right here (right out of camera shot)." But it makes such cute pictures, no tears last year, as long as they knew I was right there.
What my little princesses really are excited about is their new pretty dresses. Even the 1 yr old will twirl when you put a pretty dress on her.
Otherwise Santa is much better as an idea then in person.

Kushner, hi there! We aren't too far apart, I'm in WV, very close to the Ohio border. Welcome to you!

You would probably get lots of answers to your question if you post it in the Chicken Behaviors section. Good folks with experience integrating flocks, and any other issue you might run into. You can also use the search bar and look for "new chick integration", or something like that.

WVC, had good advice. I tend to run the same hens as a group from hatching to breeding pen to stew pot. Good luck with your birds!
