Yes it has been my observation that states that rely heavily on agriculture for income are not hit as hard. Drought would knock us pretty hard, but food is always needed.

Good morning everyone! I think if you're in the US it's still morning everywhere so I made it! Whew! Drank my coffee too...but I may go back for a second today.

Today...I feel old. My daughter turns 18 tomorrow!! But really I don't feel old...I feel like I'm in my 20's with a little maturity and experience that I wish I had then. Sigh, life is weird...but good.

On the topic of homeschool. She did that for 3rd and 4th grade, and 7th and 8th grade. I highly recommend it for junior high. It's such a hormonal crazy time it's nice for them to sort that out at home. She did private school for 9th grade and public for 10-12. 12th grade she took college classes too and graduated with a 3.8, and honors and was 17 1/2 when finished. It's always such a confirmation when your child does well after homeschooling...my parents thought I was messing her up. LOL

We got somewhere around a foot. Nothing major and I still don't know why they didn't have school unless there is someone new in the transportation dept that maybe moved here from- cough, cough ,"Florida! "

For years, there was a guy from Germany that made the decision and we went years without a snow day! The mountain schools can call their own snow days even.
Whatever, we had fun!
