Good morning everyone!

Sounds like a plan, but. I sure hope it's not as bad as they say for y'all.

I'm hoping the weather is decent for us this weekend. I have a new gardening plan.

I'm going to try hay bale gardening.

I do this! With straw. We use some composted cow manure so fertilizer is not a problem. I like it , alot, very convenient. I still have to weed, but that is because my garden was taken over by Morningglorys. Such a pretty flower, but such a huge nuisance.

Good Morning OFW :frow , Those Morning Glorys are a bad weed to have in a garden. I feel for you.

Yes I think it is Karma coming back at me, or proof God has a sense of humor?. When I was much younger I planted the dang things along my parents backyard fence. I worked hard on those fool things and was quite proud of myself, they are such a pretty flower. then they took over :/ Now I move to this place, and my whole garden is choked by the things. I kept them back fairly well last year, so hopefully this year will be a bit easier.

you have pics?

No not of the garden. I do not think anyway...
I do have my plan drawn up

Sorry art has never been my strong suit.
The whole thing is 30×30. I make 2 ft walkways and then 2 ft rows. This let's me plant two rows radishes, lettuce, ect, and gives my tomatoes plenty of room. I have an adjacent permanent garden that I have onions and garlic in. I mean to put strawberries and asparagus in it, and probably rhubarb.

Morning! Gardening? It is 18 out there..... Can't process the information...... need coffee.....

That is a lot of ice to deal with, hope you guys have your generators ready to go.....

I'm going to do something similar to this.

is this what you had OFW?

I will space mine a little farther apart to be able to mow between rows.

issue I had last year, was too much rain, to get in and till to plant.

then too much rain again, stunting the plants.....

I think this will help allot.

It's smack the backside Thursday.

You might be, if you tried to smack me. I live with horses and cats - over the years, they have whittled my reaction times down to fractions of a second, and that doesn't give me time to think about what I do . . . .

Quote: I don't know how many species of morning glory y'all have, but we have a couple around here that are perennials and come back from the roots. I pull them up every time I see them, but the dratted things keep coming back year after year. You'd think eventually I'd wear them out, but it hasn't happened yet.

for y'all, Scott, and most folks to the north and west of us. Last night, Critter went out to feed the fire in the greenhouse, and when he opened the back door, he said, "why is it raining?" I stuck my head out the door and said, "that isn't rain, it's ice." Mercifully, the sleet/freezing rain shower didn't last long, and the temps were above freezing most of the night, but it was a reminder of what is to come to a lot of us (most of the moisture will be gone by the time any real cold air gets to us, though 40o and rainy is pretty nasty for wandering around outside).
