We keep getting those 10 minute, really hard rains. But I'll still take it over snow.

Scott didn't you have some broody chicks recently? Ever get any chicklets?

We have a few fuzz butts cheeping here and there. The batch that was cooking under the broodies back in March didn't go well, that Roo was not doing his job and we had a mess of clears.

I think all the roos just took some time off but they are in rare form these days!!

I moved 10 eggs to my hatcher last night. Should get some more new chicklets this weekend.

Our youngest Lav Ameraucana was shooting blanks. His daddy was/is doing it right and now has all the Lav. hens, Jr is on stew pot row waiting for butcher day.

Here's what I do....
I like a good bluegill fillet... But most white fleshed fish will work...
I take my fish... And first roll the fillet in corn starch..... Then I dredge in egg..... Then I roll it in a mix of crushed rice crispy and flour seasoned with season salt.
Then I fry it in canola oil till golden brown.... When finished I lay the hot fillet in a pan lined with paper towel to soak the excess oil. A dash of salt and eat.... Yum

I prefer perch, but blue gill is good. Make a batter of flour, egg, garlic powder, a little pepper and beer. Deep fried and I like tartar sauce, though homemade is best.

for you deep fryers......instead of using cornmeal, try instant mashed tater flakes......mix one to one, with flour.........

or.......

my personal favorite, is to take all of our left over crumbs from cool ranch doritoes, and mash them up super good, and mix those with flour.......

I want fresh fried fish for breakfast.

When I was a kid, my best friend and I did a lot of night fishing. When we would get home my Mom would cook some of the fish as quickly as we cleaned them. I'm not certain they make women like that anymore.
