Quote: No arguments from me about that - for the car vs car incidents they are engineered for, definitely. But I've seen cars that have hit deer; deer have long legs and a high body mass, so they tend to go up and over. In a situation like that, the car can crush and crumple and still not protect you.

This was a big doe, and the larger portion of her body was above the hood. Had the Princess been driving any faster she very likely might have rolled over the hood and into the windshield. Several years ago we took a trip to the Hill Country in Texas, and I noticed that almost all vehicles had deer guards. I also noticed even more deer than we have here, and we have lots.

Morning! Glad everyone was safe in the deer wreck. Those can be so nasty.
The DS$ got second in his weight class and I think his confidence is ready for next weeks adventure at the Monster Match. Woot woot!
Here is a pic for you all. Happy Sunday!
Only in CO can you get a double rainbow in a clear sky. With some ice crystals and wind help of course.....plus a wonderful neighbor to take the pic.

Good Morning everybody!

Phil, I'm glad to see you are still around!

For some reason, I've never had cookies with ice cream. I made an apple custard tart last night, we had that with ice cream. I was not happy with the crust however, so I'll be on the hunt for a new pate brisee recipe.

With the amount of commuting DH and I do, I keep my fingers crossed that we don't hit any deer. So far we've been very lucky. DS hit a deer about 6 years ago, totaled his car, they can do so much damage.

Today I will be cleaning the appliances. Yes, they aren't that dirty, but I'm pretty anal about keeping that stuff spotless. It doesn't take much for the gunk to get baked on for life, and I've seen what that looks like, it ain't pretty!

I have cookies made, if any trick or treaters should show up at my house. Doubtful, other than my cousin's son.

Thanks for the coffee, have a Happy Halloween everybody!
