and now.........when she wants to argue, I can completely diffuse the situation, by just mentioning "The Claw!!!"Mine does that too... pretty good tactic, I must say.

Quote: Not for Critter. For me, tickling is just uncomfortable; it doesn't make me laugh, so the only thing it would do would be make me madder. However, the converse is not true. Critter is extremely ticklish. I learned long ago that it was a very effective way to shut him up and shut him down when he was pushing buttons just for the sake of pushing buttons. When he'd start picking, picking, picking, trying to aggravate and exasperate, I just pointedly looked at my hands, and flexed my fingers in a meaningful way. That's the warning shot; if he didn't take the hint, the next step was to look at him with an evil grin. At that point, he usually started giggling nervously and edging toward the door. He really, really didn't want me to get up and come after him, because he honestly cannot stand it - he would collapse on the floor, laughing hysterically, without my even having touched him. If he continued to try to say whatever it was that was so provoking, all I had to do is stand over him, making occasional poking movements with my fingers, and he literally would not be able to breathe, he'd be laughing so hard. I don't know why he has such a reaction - it doesn't happen with anybody else.![]()
depends.........I'm a fan of tickling my wife when she antagonizes me........
it's hard for her to stay mad, if she is giggling......

The older of my two grandsons was terrified of 'The Claw'. He still remembers my tormenting and assures that my time is coming. Hope he is not thinking Chucky.![]()
I'd be more concerned he would think along the lines of this kid.......The older of my two grandsons was terrified of 'The Claw'. He still remembers my tormenting and assures that my time is coming. Hope he is not thinking Chucky.![]()

Wouldn't work for me...tickling just makes me mad. I grew up having an uncle that thought it was hilarious to tickle us until we cried. Not nice, not fun (at least for us kids).
of course it would work if I did it to ya'll.........Oh man, I would be so mad!! That would not work on me!
But probably 'cause I usually only get actually mad about serious stuff. If I'm just grumpy I call myself out on it and give everyone fair warning![]()

what ya'll fail to appreciate is my unicorn costume I wear while administering the claw.......
