What fun for your GS!

I remember the grade school Valentine Day mailboxes and parties, always enjoyed those. And I still remember when my 4th grade boyfriend, Nick, gave a box of conversation candy hearts to me...and that awful girl Judy.

I remember my Valentine's Day heartbreak- 7th. grade. I got the nerve up to volunteer making the Valentine Box for the class. I was so excited. Valentine's Day came - I set up my box . Then Kathy brought one in ( bad name for her- you know). The teacher said ,out in front of everyone - she was moving my box off to the side and we'd use Kathy's box instead.

Can't tell you how badly I felt. To make things worse, the teacher would appointed a mailman to deliver the valentines around the room. THEN she would tally who got the most and they would win a prize. Guess what ,Kathy had the most - probably because she developed faster than the rest of the girls. More bad words.. I had some but not many and I felt even worse for one boy who didn't get ANY. I was so upset that, even I didn't send him one. Still kicking myself for that. I was usually the compassionate person. What a screw-up.

Whenever I heard that old Everly Bros. hit "Cathy's Clown." I'd get furious all over again.

We always had to give a card to everyone in the class...don't know if that was the teacher's rule or my parents. How sad for that boy that didn't get any. And for you DD.

I'd still be mad about that if it were me.

Morning all - teas made, coffee lurking for later. No storms last night it was so quiet, almost eerie. Fence was on, so managed to get some sleep.

@Mtn Margie I hope you survived those winds 100mph that is quite something.

@drumstick diva just awful - and positively ghastly teacher, bet she was the maths teacher, they were always the worst.

@ApiaryandAviary thanks for the kind words, it is slowly. Think most of the guys are coming today to fix. Just hope we don't get another storm. Cannot understand what is happening to the weather, the whole world seems to be experiencing extreme conditions.

Mornin' chicken friends! Wow a lot going on at the cafe. Sorry everyone is having trouble with weather and such.

I have no idea what is going on in the outside world right now I'm locked into the dog show vortex and only leave the hotel to potty some dogs on occasion. It's cold in NY when I do step outside.

Extra cup for everyone and hope for calmer weather with less hassles for all my friends here.
