Welll, it was an extract of the coca leaf, not specifically cocaine itself, but since that's what cocaine comes from, there must have been traces of cocaine in the extract.

Apparently they did and still use cocaine in medicine.... what the heck lol

The history is very interesting. And they do bring up a good point: we might not use actual cocaine now but we still use another stimulant (caffeine) and that's addictive too. So is sugar. Interesting....

Oh and CapricornFarm, they didn't used to use caffeine I don't think. They just used cocaine or the leave extract and they only replaced it with caffeine later when they took they coke out. But caffeine is still an addictive stimulant lol

Why not both? I have never tasted any of that vintage, so i have no idea. Don't smoke either. Mostly i like nuts in the brownies!

Spent several years in Ca. with the Air Force and had several friends from Co. back in the early 70's. Just saying that some brownies can make it hard to find the door, let alone walk out of it.
