BYC Café

Wind! and more wind. Leveling a spot for the loafing shed, aka sheep barn.
Horse hay unloaded from the semi and all stacked and covered. Happy horses...

Margie, we're getting that crazy wind here today too. It's around 25-30 mph here but to the east they've closed I-80 for tall trucks because it's blowing around 60 mph.

Hang on to something if you have to go outside!

Michelle, DH and I love our homemade eggnog. If you're interested, I shared the recipe here on BYC some time back:eggnog-anytime.68099

It's a good way to use a lot of eggs and it makes a great coffee creamer!
Your recipe is actually the one I'm going to try :)

Really strong winds here too. We were planning on tarping our run today but we decided not to become kites.

Awesome! I hope you like it, let me know.

(And don't overcook the egg yolks like I did this last time...let's just say, lumpy eggnog was not what I was going for :sick)

Good morning, coffee is ready and water is boiling. Anyone bringing breakfast this morning?

Question...for those of you that make hot toddys, what all do you put in them?

Whatever is handy! If it is for a cough I use whatever I grab first that is strong (rum, whiskey, or vodka), add honey, nuke it. You don't want dairy for a cold.

I think Alaskan wrote that. :lau

does sound like me. :lau

I tried red wrigglers once. They ate dog poop but my dogs pooped too much and I never remembered to water them. :(

that. is. so. ultra. nasty. :sick

(worms eating dog poo)

7. It's time to get your eyes checked.
8. You need to clean your glasses.
9. You need new glasses.
10. You need to sober up when looking for it.

All of your reasons were hilarious! Thanks for the laugh!

Rainy, dark and icky here. I woke up for 'this', a quick snack and I'm headed back for bed.

Yeah, I am so tired of this weather... :he

If I had fewer responsibilities I would crawl into bed and refuse to get out until the sun comes out.

At this rate though....might be in bed for a month!

Didn't make the eggnog today. The mincemeat smells wonderful but after 6 hours in the crockpot it's still crunchy. I guess I'll let it continue to cook overnight. Challah and multigrain breads baked. Bison stew with carriage and potatoes from our garden made and eaten. Phew.
Time for bed.
Goodnight everyone.
