Any rain in the forecast Ron?
Sadly no

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — The wind known as the Diablo has picked up again, the air is dry, there is no rain in sight and the killer wildfires ravaging Northern California’s wine country remained almost completely uncontained Thursday morning. Officials warned that some of the big fires could merge, even as new blazes erupted, and thousands of people have been told to prepare to leave their homes — if they haven’t already.

How awful. Just the other day I was reading a post from someone who had to quickly pack up and leave due to the fires. She got her family, a few photos and that was about it. She felt so bad having to leave her birds and sadly, lost them. But she was safe and so was her family.

Sure would make you evaluate what's truly important.

For Sure!
The fires likely started when a 70mph wind went through on Sunday. Trees were blown into electrical wires.

Yeah, i have been resting for a couple of slightly rainy days.
I started from zero structures here. Built a brooder, a guinea tractor, a chicken coop. Now the guineas need a bigger structure because the chickens are outgrowing theirs. The builders are supposed to build my goat shed but are slow getting started.
I am retired. When i was in Florida after Dads death and my Dear Aunts death and my moms dementia... caring for her and fixing up her house to get it ready to sell , then moving back to our Florida house i fell into a deep depression. I sat in my rocking chair and watched tv. All day. I read books until 2 am and slept until 2 pm. Repeat.
Sorry for the long monologue but just explaining why i need to keep busy. Threw out that ugly gold fabric rocker recliner. Best for me to be busy.

:hugs

That sounds like me most says, even though there were no events to trigger it.

:hugs to you too

I will!
The fires are over a small mountain range from me and quite far so far. The conditions are bad here and we are still under a red flag warning for fire danger

blach! Does all of the smoke sink down into the valley and just sit there?
