Funny, how different and in some ways similar they are.

Edmonton isn't that bad, looks like you usually stay above 0F.
The tires I have are called All weather tires. It is a silly name because they are not snow tires! My Mom uses studded snow tires in the winter because she has a house at 4500 feet and gets snow. Those are awesome in the snow with 4 wheel drive
I have winter studs and they rock! Where I live it is legal to use hard metal studs, some places you need to use soft ones. Technology is getting better though, some of the non-studded winter tires are pretty good now.
