Thanks everyone. A hawk found my house while I was on vacation at Thanksgiving and got a couple, and one the day I got back. So I put up netting over the main gap in the run, but not the smaller space at the end of the carport.

Smart bird figured out how to get in the other way. My fault, I knew it was a possibility.

Just wish it had chosen the cockerel destined for the chopping block, or one of the cheap hatchery EEs, not one that was a gift from a friend!

@FridayYet sorry you lost another bird! Those hawks are brave. We had one on the fence in our yard and it waited until the last possible second to fly off when hubs ran out there waving his arms and yelling. If the rooster doesn't shut up I might let the hawks get him

Working today but no one is here to give me crap about screwing around between calls
