BYC Café

Good morning everyone. Going to run to town today and see if u can get some cheap milk. Tried to make beeswax cloth last night, they turned out ok, but are tacky, something I am going to keep working at.

I think I posted an incomplete thought.

I meant to feed it to the chickens.Ahh yes I think your right. I assumed you were talking about human consumption because I belong to a homesteading group on Facebook and many of them are DE as this fix all, they eat it, feed it to their animals, spread it all over their homes...i avoid the conversations, something just need to die out on their own

It has been several years but I had a time when the hens were laying a lot of eggs that would break easily. I mixed a litlle DE with their feed and the shell hardened up in a day. Now I have a better calcium that is more like grit. It works very well for egg shells.

I would not eat DE

Ron tell the truth, what does flax powder taste like? Do you have to hide it in something like orange juice or ??? so you are able to get it down???

I drink it mixed in water so do not chew it. It has a nutty taste to me though. It does not taste bad like say cod liver oil.

You can add flax powder--once again powder or ground because we do not digest the seeds--to yogurt or cereal. Added to home made bread too--not seeds like some store bread though.
