Sorry, I meant over the top of the garden. It's a raised bed so I could set something on it.

Fencing it might be easier than setting something on it haha

I plant mostly paste tomatoes because all I want to do is can them! We're not big fans of raw tomatoes here so most of them get cooked
Not sure what my pest problems will be. Last year I had some hornworms, but they didn't seem to do much damage. I just picked them off and fed them to the chickens

I'm not a big raw tomato person either but my dad is and he said he wants juicer ones this year haha

I want to try squash too. And more peppers. And melons.

I bought a ridiculous amount of seeds last year and the year before.

The slugs were our only problem but the peppers in the garden barely grew and didn't produce

Meanwhile my other pepper on the deck was like at least a foot tall and produced lots!

Oh and we also had I think chipmunks eating the tomatoes! But we had so many I didn't mind. They mostoy ate the lower ones

Right now my plan for annuals is:
Peas, carrots, spinach, lettuce, kale, broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, beets, arugula, tomatoes, ground cherries, tomatillos, peppers, cucumbers, beans, onions, leeks, herbs

We'll see!
