BYC Café

Couldn't get garden soil from the landscaper today. Everything is still frozen so it won't be until next week :(
Going to see what I can do to get some peas going regardless.
This weekend we're putting together a brooder, going to keep it in the sun porch instead of the shop this time. Just nice to have easier access, but will have to watch the temps on warm days.
I hope everyone is gearing up for a nice weekend :)

this is the turning trays @tjo804 is that what you where asking the cord is from the bator itselfView attachment 1348353 View attachment 1348357
No, I have the turning trays, but with my first hatch the newly hatched chicks rolled the unhatched eggs all over the incubator. So I was looking for a safe way to do the hatch where the eggs would not get rolled especially after they had pipped and not yet zipped. But thank you for caring and helping!

Here we have Dutch Brothers! They have one called the 911

Wonderful! Thank you for that!

Put the stunted chick in the brooder today, We were worried the 2 chicks that hatched before it would pick on it. NOT THE CASE!:barnieThat little bugger is chasing the healthier chicks around and pecking at them! even at their eyes . DH thinks it is cute:smack I told him if that chick is this much of a pecker now I do not want to see it as full grown pecker:old! I will give it some time to settle in and be kind, but ONLY because my whole family is attached to the needy chick now! :he

Still Learning! :lau :th

that is the pecking order!

I had to take it out for a bit my son is holding it so the other 2 can eat and get some water. :duc I was remembering when his sire was a chick I had to put him in with the large foul instead of the bantams because he behaved the same way even pecked one of the silkie chicks I had in the head so hard it wobbled all the time. But now Lulu is a good rooster and is not aggressive at all to chickens or humans just the dogs and cats. So I guess I can give him a chance even if I need to set up the second brooder :thI would be lucky to have another rooster like Lulu I love that boy.
