BYC Café

It is similar to a quail...but bigger!

plucking is different too. You could skin but then you miss out on the flavor from the skin.

I hope it goes well! Lots of help here if you need it too
Thanks, as long as he ends up dead, that is the main objective. I am going to try the broom handle method. Hubby usually uses a hatchet while i hold the bird. I plan to wait for the evening , when it cools off. He is fasting now, less mess that way i think.

Good morning everyone.

Busy times around here... so many little projects piling up that I don't know which to do first.

I'm actually working 3 8 hour shifts in a row this week. Woo hoo! We have less than a 24 hour turn around between camp and a rental, so am having to start 2 hours early this morning.

I'm using what little spare time that I have helping Sumi with a project.

Pups are growing. They're starting to crawl around a lot. Their eyes should be opening any day now. Been helping with the bottle feeding, as my neighbour works 12 hour shifts.

Have a great day. :)

Coffee & tea time! Good morning all :frow

Cap, hope your 1st processing goes well for you.

Michelle, good news on some more hours! Has your friend found some homes for the pups yet?

Tree, congrats on the job! What are you going to be doing?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Good Morning :wee:caf

I am having trouble waking up this morning.

Dear Cap sorry to hear about your Polish. If you steep them a couple minutes (after cull I call it dispatch) then dunk in ice water the feathers practically wipe right off.

Good luck.
Sounds like everyone is having a productive week :clap

We did get some rain yesterday and the weather ppl are forecasting more for the weekend much needed rest from the baking heat.

Hope everyone has a great day.

G'morning cafe :frow

Thanks for the coffee NFC

Tree great news on the job, hope you enjoy!

Cap I just threw a carcass in a pot for bone broth, hope your processing went quick and easy.

It's HOT today, 113* is the anticipated high in my city :sick no rain, but humidity is climbing. The 5 gallon bucket that collects condensation from the drip tube on the a/c has to be emptied every day now.

Have a great day everyone :)
