My grandfather would starve rather than make something complicated like a samdwich.Same with his two sons. His daugher (my mom) was an enabler and made it for them when grandma wasn't home.

Come to think of it my father wouldn't either. But when ma died he did learn to make tv dinners in the microwave. Once though he pressed too hard on the buttons(I guess) and instead of a few minutes it must have jumped much higher.

Smoke in the microwave - the plastic dinner tray was melted and so was part of the turn table. :barnie

Oh wow! My mom is bad at microwave dinners and a lot of cooking but some things she does make well. My dad used to cook a lot but then she would get mad? Idk. So now neither of them really cook so I eat out a lot or make my own food but sometimes they do. Anyway, modern microwaves are much easier, they have shortcuts for a few minutes so ours goes up to I think 6 for the fast start/easy thing. So you hit one button and it automatically starts, no need to type anything in or hit start. So you hit, let's say 2, and it cooks for 2 minutes. Makes it really easy. And has options for most foods. Yet my mom will make it way more complicated and type stuff in and hit like an hour. She takes it out way before then obviously but it's like... you're making it way more complicated than necessary. It's easy. But oh well, I don't really say anything anymore.

Anyway, I love to cook but am very lazy so usually I don't OR I wait to eat all day and then I am starving and can't wait so eat junk. So it's bad. But I'm getting better.

And my older brother loves to cook and actually does it, although usually his fiancé cooks a lot now.

My younger brother on the other hand does not like to cook and will even ask where stuff is instead of looking for it (gets that from my dad I think LOL) and sometimes ends up just going out and buying something for lunch usually. Goes to his gf for dinner a lot. But he will make sandwiches if there is lunchmeat in the house. I don't think he likes PB&J. He does like tuna but I am not sure whether he ever makes it or not. My mom makes it a lot.

When I was still at a live on campus, there were kids that would literally burn microwave mac & cheese because... get this... THEY FORGOT TO ADD WATER. The fire alarm went off a few times and we all had to file outside and wait for the fire department to arrive. Sooo annoying. They would also burn popcorn and stink up the whole common lounge. After a while, the RA's started getting really mad lol they kinda jokingly yelled put water in your mac and cheese and I think they eventually put a sign up or even banned mac and cheese lol

:drool
You make me drool every time you talk about your adventures in the kitchen!

Ahh I had not been looking at authors. Good to know.

My Dad had a sign in his kitchen it said
For dinner you have two choices,
Take it
Or
Leave it.

I gave it to my daughter who has some very picky eaters!
Once when they were at Grandmas I was making corn bread. I add corn only for humans but I make some for the Ladies with mixed vegetables. I told them no complaining the vegetable ones are for the chickens.
I got :sick and Gross and another :sick
The Grandchildren, whom I love very much!, got chicken corn bread with their beef stew :clap

:highfive:I would do that
