BYC Café

She used to, anyway. Not sure if she still does. Speaking of okra...why does it have to be so slimy? That's one veggie I just can't deal with.
Yummy, especially okra & tomatoe gumbo.

Cool. It's really cold here, so I should be out checking waterers, but I'm procrastinating.
It's only 46°F here but I hate going out in these temps.

Morning! Thanks for the coffee!
Nice lamps, Shad. They are way cool and would probably sell around these parts in summer.
Everyone stay warm and dry and safe!
How much snow do you have Margie?
One of the problems I've found is some of my stuff is a bit too 'off base' for people to consider having in their houses; great to admire at an exhibition but you need some balls to stick it in your living room.:p
The thing is, I enjoy making the off base stuff but it just doesn't sell, or not enough.
The other problem I find here is while lots of people are very complimentary about the stuff I make, to my face anyway, they just aren't prepared to pay for the time it takes me to make them.
I end having to make some stuff I think may sell and that means I'm having to work to a price range. I don't really enjoy doing that. It cramps the art if that makes sense.
Totally. I am a potter and i used to do paintings in watercolors and acrylics. I sold them in galleries and the art center.
Hand building with clay was my favorite. My avatar shows the biggest piece i ever built.

I have alot of canvases laying around that I have sketched my ideas, themes on them and have not gone any further.
I really haven't had the time to work on them, except these last 6 months :lau but haven't been in the mood. <sigh> maybe one day!
I used to paint after the kids went to bed. I bet if you saved an hour each day to paint you would be glad you did!
