Thanks for the coffee, Shad.
I made pancakes, sausage & eggs for breakfast. If anyone's interested in brunch, help yourselves.

My siblings and I got along fine until my dad passed away. Amazing how $$$$$ can 'split' a family up. Greed, hatred, disrespect, deceitfulness, all of it coming out. Funny how 'love for the family' evaporated in a single moment....actually 'tragic'.
Enough said, life goes on and you play the hand you've been dealt.

Not here. My yard was a creek before the temp plummeted again. Now it's an ice skating rink. When all this melts and the weather warms we'll be in for another season of Jurassic mosquitoes.

Oh dear. I don't have a TV. I tried one about thirty years ago...kept wanting to toss it out of the window.
I don't have a mobile phone. I had three before I came here and they used to drive me mad.
I don't have, or even like cats.
Drinking? Seen way too many people with drink problems to be tempted. I usually get a bottle of good whiskey at Christmas. I drank wine here at mealtimes when I first came.

Well, you sound awesome to me... except for the “not liking cats” part... I wish I didn’t like TV so much! I’m pretty obsessed

I got rid of our cable service 6 years ago and never looked back. I don't miss TV one bit. I read voraciously though.
I grew up with an alcoholic mother. Who is the daughter of an alcoholic father. She was the best roll model I had! She showed me daily exactly what I didn't want to be. I'll be making the decisions in my life, thank you very much. I'll not have a bottle do it for me.

ETA: I do enjoy a nice glass of wine or a mixed drink from time to time though! I just don't make it a life style.
It was also fun brewing my own wine.

I applaud you... and if my hubby would say “no more TV” and throw it out... I’d be more than thrilled!!

Good afternoon Cafe. Rain has set in. It's been raining all morning, and doesn't look like it's going to clear out anytime soon. It's dreary out. I'll definitely need rubber boots to wade out to the coop later.

If I had tried that with the ex, he would have been fit to be tied. Maybe this dichotomy in personalities is one of the reasons he's my EX!
