No names for the chickens around here, other then descriptors needed in conversation and for unique situations. But they're not pets, so a stew hen without a name is probably best. I feel like I barely know my chickens right now; my husband took over as keeper months ago. But I'll get back into the swing of things come spring! (Spring...feels like some distant memory when starring down the rest of February)
Spring? What's spring? What corner of ON are you in?

I name all my stew birds. Hasn't made it harder for me to do 'it' as of yet, despite the conventional advice. (Maybe I'm just callous. :hmm)

We all know you're a tough cookie Banty (not)

Speaking of bites...I'm going to take a big one out of DH's hide before long. He slipped on some ice yesterday and sprained his wrist. He's such a grouch!

Anyone in the market for one slightly battered grouch ol guy? I'll pay for shipping.

Nope, sorry.

Mmmm... still nope. I'd take him when he's better, though. I need some more help with the heavy lifting around here.

Rats, it's not going to work out then. He's already behind in stuff around here anyway.

Sigh, guess I'm stuck with him :hit
