Debby, I think I would need a nap too if I got up at 3:30. Trying to decide if I've ever been up that early as opposed to that late! I don't do that anymore, of course

Yes, we can hear the elk bugle sometimes. I don't think the NNs would be happy up here. Too much wind with or without the cold. Off to do more firewood so have a great day you all!

I never get tired of hearing and looking at elk. Unless they are decimating our hay field...

Thanks for the coffee! We fired up the log splitter yesterday and got some of next year's stack done.

Judging from this morning you could well be right. He chased Etta and mates her twice, then fell on his face for a few minutes. Next time I'll let him out with Sophie, they have a more platonic relationship.

3 of the 6 that have hatched so far. Not sure which came from my flock but our egg hatched.

Thanks Becca! My son took pics for me, he stopped by with my granddaughter to see the chicks. She got to watch one hatch while she was here too.
