BYC Café

Well, it feels hot out there. I have soaked through a coupleof t-shirts weedwhacking around the garden and then splitting wood. I am in the house to cool off for a bit and hydrate some more. Cap, I hope you get to feeling better!
Have a good rest of the day/ night.
Thanks everyone, had labs done and got an Rx.

I've got admit I don't have a clue what I'm doing with this double sitting business.
I've broken my don't let junior hens sit rule and now I've got weird stuff going on.
Tackle sits overnight and Ruffles sits during the day. I'm taking a risk with Ruffles due to her bad leg so I take her off the nest and put her on a perch in her tribes coop at night. This means her leg gets half a day in the proper position.
During the day Tackle wanders about, or sits on the edge of the nest. Ruffles won't let her get in the nest anymore.
The odd thing is, Ruffles gets the eggs in a much better position than Tackle, I assume that's pertly experience. Now Tackle has learn't not to spread them around her and is much more on top of the eggs. The nest box base isn't ideal, but it has got a cushioned rubber mat at the base which does give their feet grip.
I'm wondering what will happen if and when the eggs hatch.
I don't care if the chicks hatch, or not tbh but the double sitting is really interesting.
I can make sure neither gets ill or undernourished given they are in the house and the rest of their tribe come by and don't interfere. Ruffles is second senior and Tackle is most junior.
