Working 18 hours a day I had the money I do understand @Shadrach now I have a life I have enough to get by pay for chicken feed because I sell the eggs but we are happy as get out

We weren't poor as kids but my father was as tight as a ducks arse. He had other good qualities but parting with money wasn't one of them.
I'm poor now. I haven't always been. I lost interest in making money quite a few years ago.
I may live to regret it but I like my simple life here with the animals. As I say to my eldest, I must like it to put up with the crap I have to here.
I put everything I had left into this house. My pay, if you can call it that, is $220 per month. I make a bit from selling lamps and stuff and I have no rent to pay and grow some food but it's tight.
I got offered a job in the UK last year. Not fantastic money, but enough. I didn't take it. I prefer my life here and something it took a few years to work out, having time. Everything used to be such a rush in the UK. Even if you made decent money you didn't have the time to enjoy it.

To feel at peace with what you have...I think that's what's important.

Thanks NFC, I did. How was your day?

My day has been good Cap, thanks for asking! It hasn't been inferno hot so got the chicken run straightened out, did a bit of grocery shopping, did some eliminating around the house (not nearly enough, but still...) and read a lot of a book that has me captured. Also got to spend a lot of time here on BYC today.

So back to work tomorrow but have had a good 2 days off which has been nice!

Howdy cafe. Been cloudy most of the day here. No rain predicted, just enough clouds to keep the temperature down to 95 so far.
Took some Hotshot wasp and hornet spray to a couple of yellow jacket nests. They were both about 4 inches across and filled with egg sacks. Glad I caught them.

It is good to get rid of Hornets!

We are cooler today too. We will be about 90 for a high
