BYC Café

Yea, quail are like that...pretty much breast only.

I've heard rat is a bit greasy, but maybe it depends on what they eat.
From what I can remember they tasted a bit like rabbit.
Given this lot eat pretty much what the chickens eat; much to my annoyance, I expect they'll taste a bit like chicken. They're country rats, it's not like they live in city sewers. The few I've killed looked disgustingly healthy.:rant

Morning Cafe!

Thanks for the coffee Shad. Hope you can find a shady spot or two today. It's actually going to be cooler here...not even into the 80's.

That 2nd sign (Wake the hell up) I have in my kitchen...picked it up while on vacation in AZ.

I love it! It’s a great sign haha

Wastefully.;)
I can't be arsed with the full skinning, gutting etc so it will be haunches.
I've eaten rat before in India.
I'll fry them quickly and then use them in a stew; that's assuming I hit any.:lau

DH has bad luck killing rats with an air bb gun. His instincts are to go for a head shot, but I think their skulls are too thick.

I'm not clear on what an air bb gun is.
What I've borrowed is a air rifle, spring action so it's quiet. The pellet you use makes a lot of difference. Mind you, it's made in Spain and given what I've said about stuff made in Spain before................

Honestly, I have no idea. :idunno It looks like a rifle & it shoots high powered BB's.
