Good morning, Cafe.
We're looking at some nice weather here today. High of 72F. The fog was very thick this morning though.
We'll be putting up a cord of wood today when I get home from work.

No problem.
We only have to stack it. It's delivered cut and split. It only takes a little over an hour. We'll get another load Saturday then start filling up the wood shed with pallet scrap that we get at a local manufacturer less than 3 miles from our house. It is all hard wood, mostly oak, and most of it is already cut to 16" lengths.
We get a full mid-sized pickup truck load for $20. I estimate it is equivalent to a face cord worth of BTU. So that is more like $60 a cord vs. the $170 we spend for the cord wood.

Our temps are in triple digits today, again. Warning everyone to cut back on high use electric devices, AC, ovens, etc...might have rolling blackouts today.
Might move some of my birds around today, can't seem to get any sold right now but need to have more room for the half grown birds, the outdoor brooders are getting too small for them, there 4' x 12' x 3' and have about a dozen in each brooder. Actually most peeps would call them grow out pens but my grow out pens are 6' x 20' x 7'

We all have different ideas on what our animals need don't we? More than enough is always better in my opinion!

No rolling blackouts! I can't believe in this age of modern technology that even has to happen. Our temps are still triple digits until next week but I'm looking forward to the cooler temps. I hope they head your way.

The last few weeks have been normal for us 98° days, 78 to 80° nights.
The problem with the electrical grid is it's out dated...they haven't tried to update or improve it since implementing back in the 20's and 30's.

The power grid is old and only patched up as needed. They don't even have replacement transformers made here, they have to import them.

Got bounced out of bed at about 6 a.m. by a tornado warning on my phone. Doesn't everyone need a (potentially) landfalling hurricane first thing in the morning?

A lot of the highway system is in bad shape as well, particularly bridges. Some states are better at repairs than others.
