BYC Café

I had a couple of gas generators, but the problem there was in getting enough gasoline to keep things going - I have sump pumps that must run to keep the cellar from flooding. Many of the gas stations did not have power/backup generators so gasoline was somewhat limited.

We have a generator used it once here small town but pretty solid that way

We've always been pretty good here (54 years) but this storm and Hurricane Sandy back to back years and back to back 10 day outages caused me to go for the large generator. After 3 days of no washing I become fetid, and the Princess refuses to cuddle.

I broke both rear leaf springs on a Ford Transit Crew Cab doing that. Unfortunately they didn't break at the concrete yard, they broke at the beginning of a tunnel on a motorway.
There was a mistake at the concrete plant and instead of getting a ton I got a ton and a half of wet concrete. It was okay driving on the flat but as you enter the tunnel there is a toll booth and there are ramps in the road. I got over the first ramp but at the second the bounce was just too much. I was on the local news. It caused a major tailback.:hmm

Now that's embarrassing.
These are my load tickets for the day. I couldn't repeat this if I tried. Still a wee tad over rating but not too bad.

Wow see our cook stove is propane will be doing the on demand hot water heater
this year still there is very old hot water heater electric at least 20 years old at
least was here when we bought it
I'm on butane/propane for gas here. I also have an instant hot water heater running from the gas. It's okay because I have a passive pre heat system, but if I just used propane to heat water it would get expensive if you showered a lot.

Here's a pot - they had no coffee at the dachshund field trial. Can you believe that ? 12 dogs, 16 b*tches, and 23 champions resulted in 36 braces called and 36 rabbits jumped and attempted to be run. All was over and done with by 2:30. That's especially good for the club. They did have an outstanding lunch with very good desserts. No supper for me tonight.

That sounds like a fun day. Except for the no coffee part. That is unacceptable.

Afternoon, all! Apparently caught myself a bit of the crud. Just in time for winter. Been busy shaking heavy and wet snow off of the trees, still coming down. Worst is supposed to hit tonight and tomorrow. This was at 10am:View attachment 192038630° at the moment

Meg, that is terrible. You were freezing and shaking sopping snow off your trees today.

I've been sweating buckets. I've gone through two shirts. They are sopping wet. I'm off for a load of leaf compost as I just dug a hole in what appears to be pure driveway base. I have no idea how the grass was growing over that. But my Beauty Berry will surely fail to establish roots in it so I need to amend the "soil".
