Incubating is fun to watch when it's under a broody!

What test results? What did I miss?

You didn't miss anything. I haven't mentioned it here in this thread but my 13 year old has had some dramatic weight loss, almost 4 lbs in 4 months. She started at 19.2 lbs on 5/31 and down to 15.6 last Friday.

No vomiting or loose stools, no loss of appetite, but it explains why she's been grumpy with the younger dogs over food more than usual. She's always been very food motivated, but she was skin and bones when I got her. She has never been sick, ever.

All we know for sure is she doesn't have diabetes.

It's always tough with unexplained weight loss.
I've never gotten anything back on blood work other than "everything looks normal". Okay. That's helpful.
I hope they find something that may explain her weight loss. I assume you treat routinely for heart worm so internal parasites shouldn't be the issue unless she managed to pick up tape worms.

Morning! Gonna snow on Thursday! It has been nice while it lasted though...
Enjoy the day you all.

Hi Margie! We're looking at the same winter weather as you, guess it was bound to find us sooner or later.

I still have my fingers crossed for Midge. And you...it's hard waiting and hoping to find out what's going on so treatment can begin. :hugs

Definitely do the heartworm prevention for all the pups. I did read that the medication could be why her liver enzymes were elevated in May. They weren't a concern at that time though.

The vet said he's checking for thyroid issues and if not, we'll check for Cushings. I don't know what her quality of life would be with Cushings, still researching that. I won't let her suffer but based on her current condition she's happy and active. We're feeding her a third meal for now to keep weight on until we know what's up.

Have her liver enzymes been checked since May?
