BYC Café

Too lazy to get out there and clean stuff up to prevent fires. It's easier to flip a switch and sit back with the feet up drinking coffee.
Millions are set to have their power turned off starting at midnight Pacific time. It is going to be turned off bit by bit based on weather conditions....all because of what was posted above!

We finally heard from the vet. Bloodwork for the pup is within normal limits. Taking a urine sample in today, if that doesn't show anything then scans for tumors.
That is good news so far!

:fl

My vet made me feel quite ridiculous about not having had my St Bernard spayed at 4yrs old. Breast cancer and uterine cancer were the main reasons. I surely hope it's benign, Sour. Our lab had a fair amount of those little squishy tumors in him, but they never seemed to bother him.

Glad to hear that you and Lily are getting along well :)

Hopefully it doesn't affect you too much! How is your dear wife doing? Her surgery is coming up, right?

Speaking of tumors - in going over Lily I located a pea sized, soft, smooth tumor in one of her breasts. It's not too concerning, and I will be monitoring it but don't want to have surgery unless necessary as I have intentions of breeding her. She had a hot spot/abrasion on one hind foot and several pressure sores, but they have already healed. She is starting to view me as her buddy and her personality is blossoming. I may have underestimated her quality as she put on a very impressive training run today.

It sounds like you and Lily are becoming quite the pair Sour :love

Agh, grocery shopping :he We're fully in the storm at the moment. Have about 2" down so far. The temp dropped about 25 degrees in a very short period.

Say it isn't so Meg! I keep hoping this is all a bunch of hype and it won't be much. Guess we'll know by tonight.

Why does everyone hate grocery shopping so much!? Lol

For me, it's a pain in the butt!

There are 2 stores to shop at, both require a 12 mile round trip. Neither store has all I need to get, so usually have to go to both of them. Even then, I can always bet something on my list won't be available (yesterday it was bacon & paper towels). Then there's the whole load it into my car and unload it at home aspect. The unloading is the hard part, my cats are glad to see me and insist in standing smack in the doorway where I'm sure to trip over them.

There's also the cost but that's sort of my fault. Since I hate going, I stock up on stuff. DH can't figure out why groceries are so expensive, but he never wonders why we always have food available

I detest grocery shopping and shopping in general because I have to be very careful about what I buy. If I had more money I expect I would spend less time shopping and buy most of what I wanted from local suppliers. The local produce is more expensive than the produced sourced by the supermarkets.
On the positive side, not having much money means I tend to buy very little pre prepared food and this must be good for my health. So, no crisps, donuts, cakes, etc.
It also means I have to cook more and I'm not keen on that either.
If I had more money I might enjoy the shopping more but going on past experiences I would probably waste money buying crap.
Can't win really.
