BYC Café

Probably both of us.
I need constant entertainment, not a good bored person, lifelong affliction too.
So movies are my go to.
Good, bad, who cares? If it keeps me busy it did its job.
Just polished off an odd one, "The greasy strangler" I didn't hate it, but im a warped wheel ya know.:)
There you go again. I think one (or both) of us has seen too many movies. :lau

Knock has tried to take her two chicks to the second coop for Tribe 3 a couple of times recently. Before she went broody, that's where she lived. Myth, also from Tribe 3 used to roost with Notch, the tribes rooster. Tonight Knock waits for everyone else to go in and then makes a B line for the second coop. She goes up the ramp, goes in and attacks Myth and comes straight back out again. The chicks, slightly confused and wanting to get into the other coop. Notch has I think been very good with both Knock and the chicks but now the chicks are older he's expecting them to come into the coop last. He does peck them, and he pecks Knock as well. These aren't hard pecks but it is making roost time a bit more difficult.
The three witches in Tribe 2 are still all roosting in one of the nesting boxes with the two remaining chicks who are growing.
Tackle from Tribe 1 has gone into major moult. It's her first serious moult, She's also gone off the commercial feed.
Ruffles took her chick to the bottom of her tribes coop tonight.....she's getting closer.:D
I think it might go okay. Her chick is a good size now. It hangs around with the rest of the tribe during the day without any problems. Ruffles is no longer calling the chick for whatever she finds and the chick it seems knows to keep out of the way at feeding times until the seniors are done.

Morning Shad & Cafe

Shad, did you mention once that when your girls go broody, they tend to go off the commercial feed? Can't remember, maybe I made that up.

Anyway, there's a fresh pot of coffee ready. I made it extra strong for real wake-up power!
Close. What I have mentioned is when they moult they go off the commercial feed.

Gotcha, that's interesting.
I've got three here having a heavy moult and they are all off their commercial feed.
My theory is, there is something they think they need that isn't being supplied in the feed.
I've tried watching to see what it is they prefer to eat and so far I've only managed to identify one particular bug.
