Igor "sprained his ankle" on a hunting trip and walked around for 20 years or so until I pulled rank and talked to the doctor myself. He had ruptured the tendons and had to have them surgically repaired. :rolleyes:That is not bright in my opinion.

He just recently injured the other ankle and while it didn't rupture according to dr but no mri, it stopped him in his tracks. All we were doing is walking the dogs on a nice even sidewalk. He's in a cast and doing physical therapy until Christmas.

Some of our ligaments and bones change as we get older when I had my ACL repaired the Dr said I was too old to use my own hamstring I was 49 they said it is a athletes injury but they are in their 20's .. Doc took a chance mine was still viable showing dogs all the years tell me that is not athletic four days later took off the cast was walking on my left again took a year to get back to tip toe :gig

This one is so dumb its embarrassing. A couple years ago DH dropped me off at the airport. I had just bought a brand-new carry on bag & it was stuffed tight. I reached into one of the tiny side pockets not realizing how sharp the brand new zipper was. It was SO sharp that I didn't even feel the cut, but looked down & my hand & the sleeve of my coat was covered in blood. I was baffled. I could see the blood gushing out but had no clue how I'd cut it. I always travel with a first aid kit when I'm with the kids, but I was traveling alone this time & didn't bring one. Turns out I hit that fat thumb vein on top of my hand & I swear I was bleeding out. I used every tissue I had & loads of paper towels from the bathroom. I finally had to ask an airline person for bandaids & I bled through those too. Talk about your walking biohazard. I cant believe people weren't running away screaming.

At the time I was freaked but taped it closed put a bandaid on it lived through it
another time had this cutting wheel to cut linoleum or carpet was doing new flooring in the bathroom rolled it right over my left pointing finger taking half off the side went to the hospital on that one they glued it back it healed but debriding sucked big time

Morning Cafe.
My sinus infection and traveled south into my lungs. Joy.
Just to add to my misery, I'm off to the DMV to get that non-driver photo ID for DH. I can barely keep my feet from dancing.
That is what colds do! Influenza is different

Nope, that was plywood and it kept sliding until it hit a base board on my pens. It stopped, I didn't! Went flying through the air for about ten feet, landing on my hip, right up next to the pen! Laid there for about 15 minutes to let the pain subside, then got up and walked back to the house. Knew fully well it was broke or at the very least cracked but went in to town to get an x-ray done at an Urgent Care office. No x-ray tech on duty, so went back home and returned the next morning. They x-rayed it, thought it "might" be broken. Sent me over across the street to the hospital. They did a CT scan and said "yep, it's busted" :lau
Couldn't go in surgery because I needed to make arrangements for someone to look after my birds and animals....they thought I was crazy because I wasn't going to have surgery immediately! but I couldn't for the above reasons. They even had an on staff shrink come in and talk to me, to see if I was of right frame of mind! :lau
Anyway, a week and half later after fracturing my hip, I walked into the hospital, again, to have the surgery. :th
See, chicken keeping is dangerous! We should get hazard pay!

Sorry about the DMV Dobie...those people are the worst! Hope the hospital will go along with the id your husband does have.
The problem is the new real id requirements. I had to get a birth certificate with a raised seal too.

Of course California DMV is likely the worst there is!
