Igor "sprained his ankle" on a hunting trip and walked around for 20 years or so until I pulled rank and talked to the doctor myself. He had ruptured the tendons and had to have them surgically repaired.
That is not bright in my opinion.
He just recently injured the other ankle and while it didn't rupture according to dr but no mri, it stopped him in his tracks. All we were doing is walking the dogs on a nice even sidewalk. He's in a cast and doing physical therapy until Christmas.

A couple years ago DH dropped me off at the airport. I had just bought a brand-new carry on bag & it was stuffed tight. I reached into one of the tiny side pockets not realizing how sharp the brand new zipper was. It was SO sharp that I didn't even feel the cut, but looked down & my hand & the sleeve of my coat was covered in blood. I was baffled. I could see the blood gushing out but had no clue how I'd cut it. I always travel with a first aid kit when I'm with the kids, but I was traveling alone this time & didn't bring one. Turns out I hit that fat thumb vein on top of my hand & I swear I was bleeding out. I used every tissue I had & loads of paper towels from the bathroom. I finally had to ask an airline person for bandaids & I bled through those too.

Cringeworthy!
Laid there for about 15 minutes to let the pain subside, then got up and walked back to the house. Knew fully well it was broke or at the very least cracked but went in to town to get an x-ray done at an Urgent Care office. No x-ray tech on duty, so went back home and returned the next morning. They x-rayed it, thought it "might" be broken. Sent me over across the street to the hospital. They did a CT scan and said "yep, it's busted"
