We have a small micro climate here others get snow we get drizzle but looked out the ground is dry so drizzle not

It's about to kick off between these two. Amazing how much like game fowl they look.
I must have sneaked a pair in.

Treacle gives what I've taken to be the "don't" warning.

Treacle is on it pretty quickly and heads off Hurry who still wants to fight.

Have to see if I can get a photo of my blue marans pullet she slept in the main coops last night the older girls welcomed her but as I went in she went back to the 2 cockerels in the grow out then they came out to wander a bit then back in

There is no doubt in my mind that the job of minding the pullets and cockerels falls to the junior rooster. I'm not sure how or why it works but every tribe here has adopted the same pattern. Some junior roosters are better at the job than others. Cillin, who is the senior rooster in Tribe 1 is also in the room but takes no part in these disputes, nor does he answer any distress calls from the juniors.
As the tribe has expanded Cillin spends more and more time with the senior hens, Fat Bird, Ruffles and Mel.
A similar pattern is evident with Tribe 2 currently. Mag the junior rooster is the one who keeps a watchful eye on the two junior hens Rivet and Lock.

I think I need to go and look at the sea next week. It's only 30 minutes away driving.
