BYC Café

Thanks for the fresh pot, Debby. I'll have a cup.
Still waiting for the garage to call me that my car is ready for pick up so I can get up to Penn Yan.
I reached a rep at the Humane Society that has the Dobie I applied to adopt. She told me there has been a lot of interest in him and they've decided to collect and review all the applications for him and the Board will meet to decide on the best fit. The lady also told me she would have him cat tested to see how he reacts and if he does well, she promised she'd move my application to the top of the pile! I then emailed a bunch of great pictures of my past Dobies to prove I've had lots of experience with the breed. Fingers crossed! :fl
Strange though this may seem, I'm pleased the adoption process has some checks.
Good luck.

What happened to tradition.:th
My mother was American (Scottish) and she insisted our family did the 'traditional' Christmas. This meant no decorations up until Christmas Eve. We weren't allowed to watch the tree getting decorated (had to be a real tree) or see any of the decorations etc until Christmas morning. We had stocking pinned to the mantle piece and had to collect the key for the door from our parents by bringing them tea, and later when we were older, breakfast.

:fl experience is everything when there are several adoption applications. Usually the most experienced people are the ones that they decide over, I'm sure that there aren't too many people that are experienced with them like you are. That makes me very hopeful for you :celebrate

And you talking to a rep and showing proof that you have had them... Just made a world of difference!

Is that it?!

I hope so. But it's also a shame to wait too long because if he turns out to be a good fit for me, he's stuck in the shelter waiting on them to decide instead acclimating to a new home. But I do understand and support their policy
