A mirror might be nice, but the mirror support should be unscrewable from underneath.
The screw holes could be filled with wood filler and stained to match the rest of the top.

I had 5 roosters in a recent hatch, here's the handsome fella that has won the ladies over. No chasing, raping or fighting about it either. If I named my chickens, this boy would be Casanova

Thank you DL, yes I am I also have a Dorking/Red Ranger roo I'm hoping to keep for a similar mix of girls from my last hatch.

It's hard to find a roo that'll fit in your flock so I'm glad you found one IM. I absolutely love your naked necks!

It took me months to convince my husband that we needed to rehome Sid. My chickens are so much happier with him gone. He was awful! So far I haven't seen HeiHei even make any moves on the girls. He did fluff his neck feathers at me yesterday when I caught the Brahma mix chicks to put them inside the coop. He's guardian of the chicks I guess.

Morning! Sorry for your troubles, Shad. I hope the Husky lady gets a big fat ticket for the replacement cost of the animals that her dogs destroyed. Sometimes, unfortunately, that is the only thing that makes an impression on them. Here, chickens are considered to be livestock and so you can get fines posted and losses covered. Unless it is a wild animal, then you have to jump through hoops in order to get any losses covered.
