BYC Café

I don't think I could live anywhere that went to minus Fahrenheit. I would have to move.
Funny, I've had that same thought! The good thing about the cold (maybe the only good thing) is that it kills the bugs. I didn't realize until a couple years ago that places that don't freeze hard have to deal with perpetual fleas. I'm sure there are others, too, I just never thought about it! My dogs have never had them.

Going shopping tomorrow, anyone wanna go?
Well since we are speaking of mice, I got DW a new one for her computer for her birthday. But she really needs a new pad as well so I'll go out with you and pick one up.

Nope, it's been pretty ugly. With more of the ugliness expected today. This has been a long winter.
And winter has only officially been here for 2 weeks!

It has gone above freezing, ice sliding off the roof. Getting a bit of sun today so the panels can actually do something useful. Didn't quite make 1 kWh yesterday though that was better than Monday when it was .75 kWh and that was better than last Friday when they manage a "whopping" 23 watt hours.

Plus they have heartworm, another thing you'll never see in Montana unless someone takes their dog somewhere where it stays above 55°F all the time.

Good morning, Penny! How are you feeling? Did you mean salmonella?

We get fleas here. Nothing drastic and they stay with the dogs by and large. A few hard freezes are great for killing off the mosquitoes and slowing down the flies and wasps.
Normally we get a winter that lasts a couple of months. Even in the winter we get lots of daytime sunshine. It seems from reading some of the posts on BYC that some people get 8 months of winter with a bit of sunshine squeezed in the other 4 months.
I just couldn't cope with that. The weather effects the brain and here lots of people smile, don't take it all too seriously and mix with everyone else. I like that. When I've been in Northern Germany for example the people are much more closed in and, well, cold, despite all the outward friendliness. I don't like that either.
