I thought I would post this picture because it hasn't happened here before.
This is Tyle. He's the offsring of an Old English Game great grandmother and a Marans great grandfather rooster.
He looks very game fowlish. He has a completely different stance to the other roosters. He has the crease down his chest. He's got the neck length as well. His great grandmother didn't look particularly game fowlish so I assume these genes have surfaced from generations further back.
Game fowl in general have the reputation here of being aloof for want of a better description. Most are considered to be relatively easy for humans to handle. I get such an impression from Tyle. There is something different about his reactions to me that I don't know how to describe.
Anyway, there you go. Tyle, almost a game fowl.

Wow, he's beautiful. Curious about his reactions...does he seem to like you?

Sure does have a long neck there Shad nice looking almost hen looking
more to me
Yeah, that's it. That's what I couldn't think of. He looks a bit like some of the Old English Game bantam hens. I would need to look for the breed I'm thinking of.

I don't know Meg. They do all still gather underneath my feet if I'm at the computer when they come around. I've not tried to handle him, but he lets me touch his beak without any problems.
I'll be able to put my finger on exactly what is different about him eventually.
