Sometime today. If we don't hear from her the Princess plans on texting sometime this evening. Given the current state of affairs, Lord only knows what is going on. Grand daughter (25 years old) has been staying with her 17 year old brother. We've talked with them, and all is well there.

Oh, good. At least you shouldn't have to long to wait to hear from her. Glad the kids are doing just fine, too.

Interesting read! Did you have them in Scotland and know the Scottish lore? It sounds like a portentous little bush My grandma was always big on holistic/naturopathic type stuff, so I like to read about what different plants "can do". Have you ever made use of the berries?

I've heard of sloe (slow) gin before. I wonder if that's from this particular tree or if the term applies to more than one thing. Now I'll have to look.

Yes they are in Scotland.
I didn't know much about the folk law and only bothered to find out the first year it flowered outside my house. For a few days it is spectacular. I let it grow because it make excellent cover for the chickens in the summer.
I'm just scouting about to find out if I can use the berries for a chutney or pickle. I haven't tried making anything with them before although I have tasted sloe gin.

Turns out the Princess has already texted her and gotten no response. Perhaps they have not docked, perhaps they are going through screening, perhaps 'Miss Independent' is ignoring us.

Here it still seems a bit crazy. Most SF Bay Area counties are shelter in place now. Many here want to get stocked before we get that too.

Looks like NYC is heading in that direction so everyone will be evacuating to NJ to infect their friends and relatives.
