BYC Café

We've been talking about that too. There are definitely holes in the information that represent stats I believe they have. But, why?
There are not so many holes in the information, it's just that the statistcs and reality are not very exciting.
You have to search for the information and sometimes it's buried under a whole pile of shite.
Then you need to be able to critically appraise what one reads. This is incredibly difficult for many people.

Good morning! It's a new day so it must be time for a new pot of coffee :D

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made and tea and water is on the counter. Sorry the milk for those who take it is UHT.
Not so chilly this morning. Has a small amount of drizzle so far but it helps keep everything green so I won't moan.
Chatting to friends in Bristol UK last night. The city sits in a valley. The pollution levels are normally disgustingly high. One of my friends who works in a hospital in the middle of the city says the air quality has improved an enormous amount since the lockdown and wild birds that in the past are covered in the debris from the pollution are looking more like their country counterparts.
Satellite maps from all over the world are showing incredible reductions in the level of pollution. There was talk when I was still living in Bristol of banning cars from the city and reviving and extending the tram system that used to operate there. Unfortunately the combustion engine won the day.
I am told a similar story about Barcelona with regard to the reduction in all forms of pollution.
It's a shame we are such a stupid and destructive species. We could learn from this but we probably won't.
