BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe, and thanks, Shad. @DobieLover those are perfect Cooper's hawk sized morsels.
Well, that may be, but the chicks can't stay in the ward until they aren't morsel size.
She's moved them to the chicken bush anyway.

Good looking brood there Dobie ..
Good morning cafe I brewed a late pot here
Thanks for the coffee, Penny.

I'm working on Dad's house today.

I need some trees taken down, lots of trees trimmed and probably 2 dozen stumps ground out.
The scraggly big white pine in the back down:

The topped pine down and the pile of logs gone:

These trees, among others, trimmed and dead branches removed:

The two oaks closest to the house down and all the stumps ground out:

Lots of work.
My plumber recommend a friend of his for the job, guy 1.
Guy 1 came out yesterday and quoted $5,500 for it. $3,500 if he doesn't chip up the branches, rake up the grindings or haul the cut up trunks to the woods. I'd do all that.
He told me I should expect the big tree companies to charge $7,500 for the work.

Guy 2 came out today. Guy 2 was recommended by a picky guy I used to work with.
Guy 2 quoted $2,260 to do all the work, me do nothing.
I hired him on the spot. He starts next Friday.

I thought about using my laser. The problem is the tri-pod doesn't come anywhere near close enough for high work like that.
Can't put it on a ladder?

Ironically, I don't consider 28F that cold during the winter. Now I think it's down right arctic.
Funny how that works isn't it?

Shad, maybe a facemask with skull and crossbones on it...
And maybe a six shooter on each hip.

Eating late at night does not suit my digestion.
Because you are Scottish and not Spanish? I understand that late meals are pretty standard there.

Apple is so weird
I swear they do all they can to suck more money out of the "faithful".

What you need is a bit of gelignite.
That stump grinding business is expensive.

I still have to have it hit the walls at just the right height. And my laser would have to be moved to the other side of the room and releveled to the first section. I'm going to just have to use a 4' level and do my best.
