I hope today is better!
It was a roller coaster ride.
I called the NYSDOL a few minutes before they were supposed to 'open' and got right through. The lady I spoke with fixed everything and I was able to log into my account. Woo hoo!
I went to work at mom's house, cut through the broken stile screws and got the cabinets down.
I also decided to add a tile inlay into the backsplash so I needed to move some receptacles. Got that done but ended up needing a junction box in a cabinet so made a run to Lowe's.
While there I visited the flooring department to review the quote I was given for carpet that was 70 sq ft too much. I had run the numbers 3 times and came up the same every time. Once I saw their detail, I found the problem. The woman made a copy of my sketch and will contact the company that hosed up the measurements. (How can you mess up measuring a rectangle?)
I went home, grabbed DH and he helped hold the cabinets in place while I joined the stiles and screwed them to the wall. Went to take a picture...no phone. Hmm.
Went home for dinner, etc. Can't find phone. Mild panic now setting in...
Go out to car with DHs phone and call self...no ring. Repeat at mom's house. No ring. Panic getting worse.
Call Lowe's. "Did someone turn in a phone?" "No." Hmm..okay.
Went to dress the dinner salad. No vinegar. Grr!
Get in car to go to Walmart. Closed!
Zip over to Lowe's. Beg worker collecting carts to let me in the closed store to see if my phone is at the flooring counter which is the last place I remember having it. He gets me in. He asks lady if someone turned in a phone. She irritatedly answers NO. Some other employee says "yes, someone did turn in a phone." (Ray of hope peaks through my dark cloud). He asks a 4th employee, "Hey, Jay, didn't someone turn in a phone?" Jay, love of my life, says, " yes, a Motorola". I jumped for joy as he retrieved my phone from under the counter in front of where the woman who said there was no phone was standing...

what a rollercoaster of a day! Great that you were reunited with your phone in the end though

Every morning he was at our camp, being a good boy, thank goodness! IMG_3549.JPG

Good morning Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee Sour.

Heavy showers blustering through here. My garden thinks it is autumn :th Mushrooms coming up all over the lawn and the parrotia persica is beginning to turn for its colourful display - but we're barely 3 weeks into summer :hmm The extraordinary spring has set some things forward by months, it seems. I hope it doesn't impact badly on the wildlife- the housemartins have only just got their nests built!
