Can't you put it through pvc pipe?

Running the cord through a bit of that flexible plastic conduit before you bury it helps make it last. All the electrics here are sheaved in one of these.

More work than I want to or can do.
I was pretty impressed with the 7 years, I expected it to fail way sooner than that.

Heat will be back up to near 90 today, not looking forward to it.
