BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Sour.

That's fantastic news about your dad's house, Tonya! Fingers crossed that they will love it.

That's a great tree, Perris! How exciting to have fruits after so long. Very cool.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Friday.
Thanks, Meg. I am trying to rally the troops to help me clean it up as much as possible so it looks better at least. I warned them that it is under construction and that I'm not in the habit of cleaning as I go. I just work and clean up at the end. Everything is coated in dust from sanding drywall.
I want to remove as much garbage and recycling as I can and get my two pieces of furniture out of there. I haven't gotten a call back from my nephew and his girlfriend and they are the people I'm leaning on to help me get this work done.

Good afternoon Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee Mr sourland. A bit rushed this morning so I'm due a cup.
Cloudy start with a little rain. It's back up in the low 30's C now. Need a proper storm to improve the air density.
I spent most of the morning at the vets with Cillin getting his war wounds checked over. I treated him yesterday and apparently did a good job but I like to get a proper vet check whenever possible.
He's torn a tendon which isn't good and knocked a bit off the end of one of his spurs.
Within minutes of getting home he was fighting again.
Gloria, is doing a morning surgery for fowl for a trial period and stopped on to give a hand.
Got some Ivermectin to try and deal with Fat Bird ear mite problem and the scaly leg mite that is proving very stubborn to shift on young Lock.

These long busy days are taking a toll on me. Again, I didn't wake up until 8... well I actually did. At 2 and at 4 because someone crapped in the bedroom and the stench woke me up. Nothing is quite as much fun as cleaning up dog doop in the middle of the night.
All of them have had soft stools lately and Bella is just coming fully off the boiled chicken, white rice and cooked egg diet. Maybe too soon. Maybe she needs Metronidazole. Uugh!

Who is Cillin fighting with? This is why I rehomed Captain. I couldn't deal with having to treat injuries like this.
I'm going to have to see how the two sets of bantams sex out and what their temperaments are like. If I take a shining to a cockerel of either breed, I'll keep him with a pullet. I'll likely sell the other males paired off unless I don't have a pullet to pair them with.
I figure keeping a bantam cockerel with a good nature is the lowest risk option with Fabio. They are too little to really injure Fabio and too fast for the shaggy line backer to injure them. And honestly, Fabio isn't that kind of guy. He just runs off the younger boys and is happy to leave it at that. He's never on a seek and destroy mission.

I hope they come through for you! :fl

who's Gloria? Sounds like your flock is having an unusually rough time of it right now. Is it the weird weather to blame?
