BYC Café

Had to do some 'Chicken Juggling'.
Flock had Juniors segregated(trapped) up on the coop roost,
so they couldn't partake of the ice pans in either run.
I fooled the flock to all go into the big run and shut them out of coop,
then shooed the Juniors out into the small run and shut that door.
Was easier than I thought it would be and am relieved that at least I know the Juniors have cool water to drink and wade in...since it's 87 feels like 99.

Now am back inside under the ceiling fan with an icy mug of coffee.....

....looking forward(NOT) to this coming over the lake,
they say it may weaken "but are currently producing damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning."

The day started off way to hot and sticky but this afternoon it got cooler. Now 2230 it's quite pleasant outside. The mountain weather people say things will gradually cool down over the next few days and storms with rain are likely.
Still no sign of Tack, the missing hen. It's possible she sat the day out. It's happened before with others when they first sit. One can but hope. I did find a couple of abandoned nests with broken eggs in when doing a search today. Very sad if she's dead but freedom is a dangerous business.

I hope you don't lose electric or have damage. We are supposed to have rain every day this week. The mosquitos are already too happy.
