BYC Café

I should reach the ridge tomorrow morning.
Frustrating day and a late start. The good news is I didn't need to peel back the underlayment.

Good morning Café. Coffee is ready. I left a bottle of Ibuprofen on the counter in case anyone else needs some.
It's going to be 10 degrees warmer today so I'll be heading up early to get the roof done so I don't bake.

Good morning Cafe, and thanks for the coffee Tonya. I hope your head/back/wherever responded well to the Ibuprofen! Good luck getting that roof finished.

Can you explain why it is common in the States to build with shingles instead of something more permanent, such as ceramic roof tiles or slates like in Europe? Is it because of the possibility of hurricanes and tornadoes turning them into lethal weapons? Or something else? I've often wondered this when they show the devastation after such a weather system's gone through, especially since all the timber looks pretty lethal too. And commercial buildings are often clad in uber-lethal glass, so I'm really perplexed...🤔

Morning! Last day of record high temps here and then record lows tomorrow for the time of year. Up to 18 inches of snow... I have more coffee brewing for the "take it easy day" festivities. I am glad that your dog did well, Sour.
Enjoy the day you all!

Snow already? Wow.

I might need some NSAIDS too! We will see how the day goes.

We started out at 78F today and are headed towards 110F. These are actual temperatures too.

Hopefully this will be the last heat wave of the year but we could get one more. The Bay area is worse for temps and Southern CA is also hitting record highs.

We also have a north breeze bringing in smoke so bad air quality and then Tomorow, strong south winds that may cause PGE to turn of power in the Sierra counties.
